The Senior Portrait Session has three parts:

  • •The Pre-Session Consultation. We will meet a week or more before your session to plan everything. We will determine the type of setting you prefer. We will pick a location and coordinate clothing and accessories. This is also a time when we brainstorm about unique portrait ideas that will make your session truly different from everyone else's.

  • •Extended Shooting Session. I will shoot until I feel I have more than enough great shots. This usually takes between 2 and 3 hours.

  • •Proof Viewing & Ordering Session. I will invite you into the studio for a theater-style presentation of your proofs. After the presentation, we will go through the proofs and take as much time as necessary to decide on your portrait order. You will be able to compare proofs side-by-side and in a variety of formats and real-life sizes to make the selection process fun and easy. We can also create collage and album compositions to showcase your portraits as a complete collection.

We have an option of including a make-up artist for your session. The cost is $75.

Our artists are great at coordinating make up with the color palette of our session clothing and locations. Most of our seniors don't wear a lot of make up, and we know how to create a fresh and clean look that still holds up well for the camera. It is a lot of fun for the girls and adds to the special feeling we hope to create with our senior sessions.

If you are interested in including our make-up artist in your session, please let us know at the time of booking, and we will check availability for your session date.

The Family Portrait Session has three parts:

  • The Pre-Session Consultation. At the time of booking, I will also help you plan and prepare for your session. We will determine the type of setting you prefer. We will pick a location and coordinate clothing and accessories. I will also provide you with online and email resources to provide additional inspiration when choosing and coordinating outfits for your session.

  • •Extended Shooting Session. I will shoot until I feel I have more than enough great shots. This usually takes between 1 and 1.5 hours.

  • Proof Viewing & Ordering Session.

There isn't really a best time of year, but there might be a best time for you. Some like to schedule a session based on their seasonal preference in clothing and/or type of location. Others give greater consideration to weather and want to avoid the heat of summer or the cold of winter.

Keep in mind that we normally shoot on weekdays and in the late afternoon/early evening. Family sessions start about 1.5 hours before sunset, and senior sessions about 3 to 3.5 hours before sunset. From late Fall through early Spring, early sunsets necessitate earlier sessions. This could require students to leave school early. Seniors should also plan ahead if they are involved in after-school activities that might make scheduling more difficult. In these cases, a summer session might be the better choice.

Our clients come to us for archival-quality portrait artwork, and that is the focus of each portrait session. In order to protect the integrity and quality of our art, we do not provide digital file collections.

We do post images from most sessions on our social networking sites. These are studio-branded images that you may share as long as they are not altered and the studio copyright is protected. In addition, we offer usage rights on single digital files for specific uses, including client-produced holiday cards, yearbook portraits and ads, and fraternity/sorority applications. The cost for the file and usage rights to the individual copyrighted image is $50.

The main point of this experience is to give you something uniquely yours - something no one else can have, and something you can get nowhere else. As such, great care is take to make sure you receive portraits that reflect everything you and others love about you.

The initial consultation is very much a collaborative effort between you and Ron to design the perfect portrait session. During the session, you will have fun. Our goal is to make it the experience of a lifetime. Afterwards, you will have a collection of portraits that you will be proud to share with your friends, and that make you feel as beautiful as you are.

The images that I photograph for you are the ones that I wish someone would shoot for me: Portraits revealing the relationships between me, my wife and my children. Portraits that capture those details about my kids I know so well today, but fear forgetting as time goes by. Portraits that speak to that thing inside me that changed forever the day each of my daughters was born.

I photograph this way because, intuitively, it feels right. It feels like the most important thing I can do with the hour or two that I get to share with your family.
